Gas line ruptures on Highway 80
A gas line that supplies natural gas to the City of Livingston ruptured at the intersection of Highways 80 and 28 Thursday evening.
Crews on the scene worked for more than an hour to contain the fire but brought it under control around 8:30 p.m.
Officials with Southern Natural said gas service to Livingston would be interupted for an unspecified period, but are working to install the necessary parts to seal the leak and, possibly, restoring service Friday.
More information will posted to www.demopolistimes.com as it becomes available.
