Well, it was bound to happen one day. Just so happened it happened last night.

Congratulations to the senior Demopolis High School football players on a fantastic year. Sure, the season ended before the Tigers were able to clinch another blue map, but they carried themselves well on and off the field. They represented our city well on the road and served as gracious hosts at home.

They close out a phenomenal chapter in their lives with an area championship and a region title in their pockets, already having earned a state title in 2009.

Further congratulations and appreciation are due to Linden and Sweet Water who kept their title dreams alive. Good luck, gentlemen, as the Friday Night Lights begin their annual dimming.
