Dixon retires from Chickasaw

LINDEN – State and county officials, family and friends came together last week to honor Pat Dixon who, after 20 years of dedicated service, retired as the manager of Chickasaw State Park near Linden.
Her Official State Retirement Reception was held Wednesday, Nov. 10 at the Providence Baptist Fellowship Hall where Dixon is a member.
Approximately 100 people gathered to honor Dixon and witness her being presented the Official State of Alabama Retirement Certificate, signed by Governor Bob Riley, and presented by State Parks Director Mark Easterwood.
In addition, Riley sent Mrs. Dixon a certificate of recognition from his office. Marengo County Commissioner Freddie Armstead presented Dixon with a resolution from the county. Dr. Walter Davis made a presentation on behalf of The Linden Industrial Development Board and Josephine Blackwell was present to do likewise for the Marengo County Economic Development Authority.
The Alabama State Parks Field Staff presented her with an engraved clock and she received many cards and letters extending her best wishes on her retirement.
