Sam Fletcher Ledbetter, 83, of Linden died April 19 at DCH Regional Medical Center. He was born July 25, 1927 in Reeltown. He was a graduate of Auburn University and a retired administrator with the Farmers Home Administration U.S. Department of Agriculture. He was a member of the Linden United Methodist Church. He is survived by wife, Joyce Middleton Ledbetter of Linden, daughter Gail (Jack) Kappan of Tuscaloosa, son Charles (Susan) Ledbetter of Meridian, Miss., son Mitch (Gloria) Emmons of Auburn, daughter Jo Emmons of Auburn, son Pat (Rebecca) Emmons of Ephrata, Wash., grandchildren, Lewis Cole, Sara Elizabeth Cole, George Barrett, Ross Barrett, Bess Wilder, William Ledbetter, Melissa Ledbetter and two great granchildren. He was preceded in death by wife Norma Ledbetter, daughter Janet Barrett and granddaughter Laura Ledbetter. Funeral services were held at Linden United Methodist Church on Thursday, April 21 at 2 p.m. with REv. Ray Bass officiating. Burial was at Linden Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers were Lewis Cole, George Barrett, Ross Barrett, Rob Wilder, William Ledbetter and Drew Lancaster. Memorials may be made to the Linden United Methodist Church.
