Marengo High Lady Tracksters claimed its first state championship Saturday, May 7 when its 4-by-100-meter dash relay team turned in its best time fo the year to take first place. This is a major accomplishment since the school does not have a track.

Junior Tiffanie Pritchett, along with her fellow runners Kiana Lewis, Keondra Bouler and Keishelle Clarke, finished the race with a time of 52.01 seconds, topping second place Alabama School for the Deaf and third place Linden.

The young ladies entered the Saturday finals with the second best time behind ASFD in the prelims Friday.
