William Leroy James Jr., Age 85, of Demopolis, AL, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2011. Retired Major in the United States Army having served in World War II, ROTC instructor Ensley High School, member of the VFW association, Military Officers Association as well as a contributor to the World War II Memorial.
He was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Nelda James.
Survivors: wife Virginia James, daughter Linda Luke (Melvin); step-children Yulanda Noland, Wanda Fuqua, Bill Noland (Lisa); brother Leo James (Olga); sister-in-law Jackie Hawkins; grandsons William Luke (Charity) and Stephen Luke; step-grandchildren David Fuqua (Catherine), Matthew Noland and Amberly Noland. Great-Grandsons Brennen Luke and Kael Luke; Step-Great Grandsons Andrew Fuqua and Coleman Fuqua.
Funeral services will be held at Gallion Baptist Church Tuesday, May 31 at 10 AM with burial at 2:30 PM at Crestview Memorial Gardens, Adamsville, AL.
