Rex Lavurl Vaughan

Rex Lavurl Vaughan, 78, of Linden died Friday, June 17 at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital. He was born July 15, 1932 in Westville, Fla. He was a member of the Forest Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Vaughan retired after working 31 years as a paper mill supervisor. After retirement, he worked for the Demopolis City School System as a bus driver. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the 82nd Air Borne.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Joan Segers Vaughan of Linden, sons Michael Rex (Dee) Vaughan of Hoover and Daniel Avery Vaughan of Linden, brother Quinton (Claudette) Vaughan of Tallahassee, Fla., sister Janice (Carl) Vaughan Dunn of Albany, Ga. and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Wendy Gail Vaughan Richards. Funeral services were held at Forest HIll Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 21 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Mark Brewer officiating. Burial was at Linden Memorial Park in Linden.
