Upwards of 80 people packed the Demopolis Country Club Thursday evening in an effort to bolster relief for local victims of April’s tornado outbreak.

A benefit concert featuring Joey and Tony Gulizia and Jill Tutt raised more than $4500, which will be sent to the Marengo County Commission for disbursement for local needs.

“All of the funds raised stay right here in the county,” Tutt said.

The event lasted approximately three hours, with a come and go crowd that exceeded expectations.

“Everything was great,” Tutt said. “The crowd was what we were hoping for and we had hoped to raise around $4000. It couldn’t have worked out much better.”’
