Mary Emma Rhodes Archer, 92, of Jefferson died July 20 at Marengo Nursing Home in Linden. Born June 5, 1919 to the late Dr. Charles Eugene and Leila Compton Rhodes in Jefferson, she was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Taylor Clements Archer, sisters: Mildred Coats, Elizabeth Alston, Lois Bates and Miriam Watts and brother: Charles E. Rhodes Jr.

She is survived by one brother, William D. (Christine) Rhodes of Jefferson, step son, Jerry Archer, five nieces: Patricia Coats (Hawkins) Moore of Jefferson, Betty Bates of Jefferson, Ann Alston (George) Fendley of Camden, Jane W. (Mark) Goddard of Northport and Barbara W. (Terry) Johnson of Decatur, nephews: Joe Coats Jr. of Jefferson, James E. Bates of Montgomery and Chip (Charlotte) Bates of Statesboro, Ga.

Graveside services are scheduled Saturday, July 23 at 10 a.m. at Jefferson Cemetery with the Rev. Daniel Gandy officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing.
