Demopolis City Schools to register next week

With the first day of classes on the horizon, Demopolis City Schools will begin orientations and schedule pick-ups next week.
At Demopolis High School, that process begins Monday at 6:30 p.m. with an orientation meeting for juniors, seniors and their parents. Schedule pick-up for juniors and seniors will be Tuesday, Aug. 2. Seniors can get their class schedules from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Juniors will follow at 10:30 to noon.
Orientation for freshmen and sophomores will take place Tuesday night at 6:30. Underclassmen will be able to get their schedules Wednesday, Aug. 3. Those in the 10th grade can get schedules from 8:30 to 10 a.m. while ninth grade schedules will be available from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
“This is for parents and students,” Demopolis High School principal Leon Clark said of the orientations. “It is an informational meeting to provide information to parents on their child’s upcoming students. All parents and students are urged to attend.”
The high school will hold its annual open house Thursday, Aug. 18 at 6:30 p.m.
Demopolis Middle School will hold its registration Friday, Aug. 5. The eighth grade will have registration from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Seventh graders will register from 10:30 a.m. to noon while sixth graders will undergo the process from 1 to 3 p.m.
School wide registration for U.S. Jones will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5. Westside Elementary School will begin registration Thursday, Aug. 4 when kindergartners register from 2 to 3:30 p.m. First graders will register Friday, Aug. 5 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. with the second grade going from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
