Helen Louise Holloway Thomas, 96, of Greensboro went to be with her Lord Aug. 1 in her home. Services will be held Thursday, Aug. 4 at Greensboro Baptist Church with Rev. Dee McGurie officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1-2 p.m. Kirk Funeral Homes Greensboro Chapel will be directing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Werdna Thomas, and her parents. She was born April 25, 1915 in Perry County to the late Albert Cleveland and Hollie Holloway.
Survivors include her daugthers Anne Louise (Dale) Barger of Linden and Laura Sue (Mayfield) Richards of Greensboro and her sister, Catherine Christenberry of Chickasaw.
Her surviving grandchildren include Linda Barger Taylor, Thomas Barger, Angela Barger Stokes, Laurie Richards Gibson-Pierce, William Richards and Edward Richards.
Her surviving great grandchildren include Amy Taylor, Erik Taylor, Brian Taylor, Galen STokes, Jacob Barger, Ashley Stokes, Victoria Richards, Holly Richards, Breanna Richards, Payton Stokes and Gabrielle Richards.
She was well known at Greensboro Baptist Church as Ms. Helen and for taking care of the fellowship hall and kitchen for many, many years.
Pallbearers include Edward Richards, William Richards, Thomas Barger, Dale Barger, David Stokes, Steve Taylor and Mayfield Richards.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Greensboro Baptist Church Building Fund at 904 Main St., Greensboro, AL 36744
