William Arthur Gamel, 87, of Demopolis passed away Saturday, Aug. 6 at Northport Druid City Hospital. Born Nov. 8, 1923 in Talladega County to the late Arthur Anderson and Ella Rosetta Stone Gamel. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Gamel (Jim) Sigler of Demopolis, son, Arthur Dewayne (Pat) Gamel of Demopolis, and grandchildren Suzanne Jacobs (Charlie) Grant of Demopolis, Lisa Jacobs (Clif) Mangum of Demopolis, Michelle Gamel (Doug) Scarborough of Trussville, Teressa Jacobs Freeman of Demopolis, Michael Gamel of Sylacauga, Joseph Gamel of Sylacauga, Sherrie Gamel Marrs of Sylacauga, Kimberly Gamel Manning of Demopolis and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Aug. 9 at Westside Baptist Church at 10 a.m. with Rev. Richard Scott officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. Burial followed at 4 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Sylacauga.

Pallbearers were Clif Mangum, Josh Mangum, Jonathan Mangum, Charles Grant, Kenny Freeman and Jake Freeman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westside Baptist Church Building Fund.
