Josephine Anderson Rutledge, 79, of Demopolis died Sept. 2 at Anderson Medical Center.
Born Feb. 1, 1932 in Clark County, Miss. to the late Luther C. and Catherine Blackwell Anderson, she was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Cathy Rutledge Clifton, son Grady Allen Rutledge, stepmother Margie Cummings Anderson, four sisters Hazel Anderson Cooper, Christine Anderson Buckalew, Ruby Mae Anderson and Olis Dearman, one brother, Luther Leon Anderson and one nephew, James Calvin Buckalew.
She is survived by her husband Grady Rutledge, sister Neely Harwell of Moss Point, Miss., step sister Alice Cummings Stewart of Meridian, step brothers Roger Cummings and Paul Cummings, both of Meridian as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 5 at 10:30 a.m. at Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel with Reverends Ron Leonard and Randall Smith officiating. Burial followed Monday at 1:30 at Jones Chapel Church Cemetery in Meridian, Miss.
Active Pallbearers were Morris Samples, David Compton, Mike Barnes, Keith Smith, Josh Johnson and Joe Bedsole.
Honorary Pallbearers were Eddie Phillips, Gene Davis, Don Barkley, Bryan Cook, Randy Gabriel and Tim Skinner.
She was a homemaker and worked at Marengo Mills in Demopolis. She was a loyal member of Rangeline Baptist Church in Demopolis.
