DPD aids Wilcox drug raid

The Demopolis Police Department assisted in a Wilcox County drug raid Friday that resulted in the arrest of one Camden man while another remains on the run.

The DPD SWAT team and K-9 Unit aided the Fourth Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force, the Wilcox County Sheriff’s Department, Camden Police Department, Federal Agents from the Alabama Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force, First Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force, Alabama Department of Corrections K-9 Units and RAID helicopters as they executed two search warrants in Wilcox County.

The first search took place on Collins Moton Road, in Camden, at the home of Roderick McMillian and Jimmy Joe Jackson. Jackson was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana First and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

McMillian was not home at the time and is presently on the run.

Another warrant, executed on Malcolm X Drive in the Westgate Community resulted in the arrest of Oscar “Mike” Irby. He was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Resisting Arrest.

Wade “Neal” Quarels and Terrence “T-Rex” Powell were arrested at Pinewood Apartments in Camden and charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana First.

Crack cocaine, marijuana assorted pills, weapons and money were confiscated during the warrants.

Additional arrests are expected.
