2 city firefighters plead guilty to charges

Two Demopolis firefighters pleaded guilty Monday in municipal court to various charges.
Lafayette Wilson was arrested by the Demopolis Police Department in April and charged with Possession of Marijuana. According to police records the arrest was made at Edgemont Village.
Wilson pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia possession of an open container, both misdemeanor charges.
Matt Allred was arrested July 6 for Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement.
He pleaded guilty to reckless driving, also a misdemeanor.
“They’re both good fire fighters, and they’re both good people,” Demopolis fire chief Ronnie Few said. “They’ve both invested a lot in their careers.”
Allred has since offered his resignation.
