Paul Malcomb Howerton Jr. , age 86, a retired refrigeration technician of Gallion, died Tuesday, Nov. 8 at his home. He was born April 3, 1925 in Kirksville, Mo. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict.

Howerton was a member of the Masonic Lodge F & AM and was a supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the VFW Post No. 5377.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Howerton, of Gallion, son, Rick (Shirley) Howerton, of Deer Park, Wash., daughter Connie Hillard of New Orleans, La., son Bob (Lessie) Howerton, of Gallion, son, Charles (Tracey) Howerton, of Gallion and 15 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ed Shirley officiating. Burial with military honors were at Linden Memorial Park in Linden.

Active Pallbearers were Bob Howerton, Rick Howerton, Charles Howerton, Andy Howerton, Bobby Howerton and Robbie Carlisle.
