The Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce is currently seeking nominees for its business and citizen of the year awards.
Each year the Chamber honors one business and one individual for their contributions to the city.
Last year, Collins Communication was awarded Business of the Year with Carl Wright taking home Citizen of the Year honors.
“All civic clubs have been invited to participate in this process, and we solicit your organization’s support and recommendation,” Chamber Director Jenn Tate said of seeking Citizen of the Year Nominees.
Tate also called on local business and community leaders to rack their collective brain over nominees for Business of the Year.
Those wishing to make a nomination should submit a letter to the Chamber by Wednesday, Feb. 15. No verbal recommendations will be accepted.
Criteria for selection of both Business and Citizen of the Year are as follows: Nominee must demonstrate outstanding and extraordinary service through civic, religious, business, charitable, community, military, agricultural, government, professional or political activities to Demopolis, Marengo County or the State of Alabama.
The winners of both awards will be announced at this year’s banquet, Monday, March 5.
