“Because the circuit clerk’s position requires that a person has the ability to multitask and handle numerous responsibilities, I would say that my previous experiences, skills and education better qualifies me to perform the duties of circuit clerk effectively and professionally,” Sewell said.

She cited the current efficiencies in the clerk’s office as things she would like to continue and build upon.

“In my experience and dealings with the current staff in the circuit clerk’s office, I have witnessed professionalism and friendliness when being served,” she said. “Therefore, I would like to continue that trend and ensure that all citizens receive the same fair, professional and courteous service.”

Sewell cited her varied experiences as a strength that could help move the operation of the clerk’s office forward.

“Aside from my educational background, which has been a great factor to my success, I am a very well-spoken and ambitious person with a wide array of experience,” she said. “Those experiences have enabled me to adapt to any environment or situation that promotes growth and progress. I believe that my desire to learn and embrace challenges could be a great value for the circuit clerk’s office…I am a very hard worker and value (voters’) concerns and interest.”

Sewell, a resident of Dixon’s Mills for 35 years, is a member of Star Bethel P.B. Church in Sweet Water. She has two daughters, Ciera Hudson and Jashana Sewell, and one granddaughter, Za’Niyah Hudson. She is the daughter of Bessie Hudson of Dixon’s Mills.
