James Elbert Burbage Jr., 73, of Linden died Monday, Jan. 9 at Noland Long Term Hospital of Tuscaloosa. He was born Sept. 6, 1938 in South Carolina. Mr. Burbage was a former industrial coating superintendent.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Burbage of Linden, son Eddie (Dana) Burbage of Linden, daughter Phyillis (Allen) Coleman of Linden, son James (Amy) Burbage of Montgomery, daughters Jennier (George) Lummus of Meridian, Miss., Lisa (Todd) Gates of Demopolis and Vickie (Rick Capps) Robertson of Gallion, sons T.J. (Sarah) Collins of Gallion and Charles Burbage of Linden, brother Phillip Puhl of Green Cove Springs, Fla. and Yevette Chadwick of Prince Frederick of Md. as well as eight grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services were held at Linden Memorial Park on Friday, Jan. 13 at 2 p.m. with Mitzi Gates officiating.
