Allen Rayfield Thomas

Allen Rayfield Thomas, 81, of Greensboro, died Sunday, Jan. 22 at Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Greensboro. Born March 23, 1929 to the late Frank and Erma Rayfield Thomas, he was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Frank G. Thomas, sisters Helen Franklin, Mary Scott Martin, Erma Jean Nettles and Joni Kate Rickerson and daughter, Donna Thomas.
He is survived by his daughter, Twanya Jean Dryer of Littleton, Colo. and a son, Alan Dale Thomas of Littleton, Colo., brother James R. Thomas of Greensboro and sisters, Hazel Hagen and Beulah Harper, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Kirk Funeral Homes Greensboro Chapel directing.
He spent 25 years in the United State Air Force. He enjoyed life, writing music and playing his guitar to friends and neighbors all over the county and at the nursing home to the residents. He was a member, troop master and instructor for Boy Scouts of America. And was affiliated with the organization for over 60 years. He has many friends that loved him and he loved them dearly.
