Patriots down Demopolis on Senior Night

LINDEN — The Patriots celebrated Senior Night in style with a 68-56 win over Demopolis Saturday night.

The contest, which closes out the regular season, saw the Tigers jump out to an early 13-7 lead after one quarter of play. On the final play of the second quarter, Linden point guard Anthony Robinson drained a three-pointer to tie the game at 25. Linden never trailed again.

The Pats corrected their shooting woes in the third quarter and physically dominated the Tigers on the boards while opening up a 42-28 lead.

Demopolis cut the deficit to 44-34 after three quarters but never got closer than nine points back in the game’s final frame.

Ashton Wilks led all scorers with 27 points for Demopolis. Tommy Wilson added seven for the Tigers.

Shauka Reese led Linden with 19 points. Imora Agee had 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Patriots. Chris Rogers ended the night with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Wilvonta Horton had eight points and 24 boards. Robinson finished a free throw shy of a triple-double with nine points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

Both teams will play again Friday night in their respective area tournaments.
