GOP chair seeks delegate chair

Marengo County GOP Chairman, Josephine Hall-Blackwell, is currently running as a GOP delegate in Congressional District No. 7, Place No. 2 on the Newt Gingrich ticket.
She was born in Chambers County, raised in Sylacauga, and graduated with the Class of 1962. She has been a resident of Linden for 50 years.
She graduated the University of West Alabama with the Class of 1986 with a BS in Business Administration where she was the Honor Graduate. She is a member of both Phi Kappa Phi and Omicron Delta Kappa honor societies.
Hall-Blackwell is a real estate broker and former Certified Appraiser and owned her own company, Hall Realty, for 12 years.
She is currently serving on both the Marengo County Industrial Development Board and the Linden Industrial Development Board. She is a member of Rotary where she has served as President and is a Paul Harris Fellow.
She was formerly President of the Board for the Tombigbee Girl Scout Council in Tuscaloosa; former Business and Professional Women’s (BPW) State Legislation Chairman twice; former member of Georgia Pacific’s Citizens Advisory Council at the Pennington Mill; and helped bring the Junior Miss Program to Marengo County.
Josephine is a Certified Tree Farmer and was chosen as 2001 Marengo County Woodland Farmer.
She was married to Marvin Jackson Hall (deceased) and William C. (Bill) Blackwell (deceased).
She is retired and enjoying her hobbies of art, writing and traveling.
