Pine Belt Communications recently announced the purchase of Media 3 cable TV systems in Grove Hill, Butler and Lisman.
Under the agreement announced July 30, Cable South will continue to manage billing and technical services during an interim period until operations transition fully to Pine Belt, which is expected to take 30 to 60 days.
Pine Belt has provided local telephone services to areas like Dixons Mills, Sweet Water, Arlington and Nanafalia since 1958 and mobile telephone services to Marengo, Choctaw, Dallas, Perry and Wilcox counties since the 1990s. The company also provides wired, wireless and mobile broadband Internet in these areas.
Company officials said they look forward to offering new services and reaching into a new part of the state. The Grove Hill system will be a new service area for Pine Belt.
“This expansion into new services and new areas is exciting for everyone at Pine Belt,” said John Nettles, company president. “We look forward to offering our new cable and Internet customers some exciting improvements in the product line-up and the best local service in the area. They will quickly learn why Pine Belt is known as ‘The Neighbors You Can Call On.'”
Pine Belt Communications (which includes Pine Belt Telephone and Pine Belt Wireless) is family owned and operated. The company serves six counties and operates offices in Linden, Butler, Camden, Grove Hill, Marion and Selma. The business is headquartered in Arlington.
