Demopolis City Schools met all requirements and goals for the 2012 Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) report except for one sub-group for 11th grade reading.

U.S. Jones Elementary School and Demopolis Middle School had all students and students in every sub-group above the AYP standard in reading and math. Both schools met 17 of 17 goals, which is the highest either school has ever attained.

Proficiency levels in grades three through five and six through eight went up in both the reading and math categories. Demopolis High School met and exceeded previous standards in math and graduation rate, but fell just below the goal of 92 in reading with a score of 91.39.
