The first Business and Industry Luncheon, hosted by the Marengo County Economic Development Authority, will be held on Thursday, Aug. 16 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at The Farm House Restaurant on Highway 80 in Demopolis.

Owners, managers and/or CFO’s of all businesses and industries are encouraged to attend.

MCEDA Director Brenda Tuck said if top management is unable to attend, businesses are encouraged to at least send a representative so that they can receive the information being provided. She also said that this luncheon is a great opportunity for area businesses to network together and find synergies that can benefit each of them.

Featured speakers at the event will be Howard Wills from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs and Ann Alford of the Alabama Tombigbee Regional Commission. Both speakers will provide information on financial resources for businesses within Marengo Academy.

“We are excited to facilitate this luncheon, which will be the first of many,” Tuck said. “While we do focus on recruiting businesses to enhance our county and our workforce, one of our most important activities is supporting our existing businesses and industries.”

A buffet lunch will be served and is $8.71 per person including tax. Reservations can be made by dropping off a check, made out to The Farm House restaurant for the number of persons who will attend from the company, to the Alabama Power office in Demopolis or the MCEDA office in Linden at 507 N. Main St.
