The Cancer Care Center of Demopolis and the Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital plan to host free prostate screenings this Wednesday beginning at 5 p.m.

Besides skin cancer, prostate cancer is the most common cancer in American men and more than 200,000 new cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed in 2011, according to the American Cancer Society.

Prostate cancer is treatable through early detection and those interested in the free screening should call and pre-register at (334) 287-2647. Screenings will take place at the Cancer Care center.
