Betty Marie Gibbs, 77, a homemaker of Linden, died Monday, Sept. 24 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

She was born June 3, 1935 in Linden. She was a member of the Providence Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin Gibbs, of Linden; two sons, Steven J. Zimmerman of Linden and Randall Wayne Zimmerman of Tullahoma, Tenn.; four sisters, Gwen (Tony) Cannon of Linden, Martha (Jimmy) Johnson of Santa Rosa, Fla., Barbara Luker of Linden, and Gloria (Wayne) Glass Henson of Dixons Mills; a sister-in-law, Doris Ann Luker of Tuscaloosa; a brother-in-law, Wiley Chapman Jr. of Linden; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Warren Huggins officiating. Burial was at Linden Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers were Danny Criswell, Steve Zimmerman, Sloan Whitfield, Rusty Glass, Danny Class and Jimmy Glass.
