A reception Monday will thank outgoing Demopolis City Schools board of education member Bobby Armstead for his service while welcoming new member Conrad Murdock.

The reception will be held Monday, Oct. 15 at 4:30 p.m. at the Demopolis Board of Education on South Cedar Street.

Murdock was appointed Thursday by the Demopolis City Council to fill Armstead’s seat on the board.

The reception will be before the next scheduled BOE meeting, which will follow at 5:15 p.m. Armstead will be recognized at that meeting too and Murdock will take his oath of office then.
