Demopolis volleyball has not had a season to remember so far, with four wins and two matches left to play. All of that can be erased though with success in the area tournament that starts Oct. 18 at Sumter Central High School.
The Lady Tigers have been playing much better volleyball in October than they did in September, and could carry some confidence into the tournament.
Head coach Blythe Smith said their success will depend on the team’s attitude.
“If we can go into the tournament with a good attitude and with the knowledge that we can beat Selma, who we will play first in the tournament,” she said, “we can do well.”
Smith added that her team has won just enough this season to know what happens when they play well.
“We have won just enough,” she said, “and have seen how we play well together and how we don’t, and that this determines the difference in a win and a loss.”
Smith said they will have to walk into the area tournament with the attitude of getting to the Super Regional tournament.
