With the region championship on the line this week, Demopolis (8-0, 6-0) travels to Jackson to take on the Aggies (8-0, 6-0).
Even though there is a lot of hype surrounding this game, head coach Tom Causey said he believes his team will be ready to play Friday night.
“With the leadership and maturity of this team,” he said, “I feel like we are where we need to be. There is a lot of hype for this game, but it’s outside of our building and outside of our practice field. We are just taking it one day at a time.”
He added that his team has gotten better every week and, while a lot rides on this game, their goal for this week is to be better than last week.
“Our goal is to be better in week nine than we were in week eight,” he said. “Jackson has a lot of good players and they have three big playmakers on offense. They are extremely talented and they play extremely hard. We just have to go out and take care of the football and keep improving.”
