Matthew Edwards, 44, was arrested on Sunday, Nov. 4 for arson of an apartment unit he was living in on West Barnes Street.

Edwards set a newspaper on fire over a stove, he then dropped the paper on a bed and left the apartment unit, according to information from the Demopolis Police Department.

There were no other units damaged in the fire and there were no injuries in the fire.

Edwards was arrested the same day as the fire was set.
