Amelia Jackson Zanders

Amelia Jackson Zanders, 102, of Demopolis passed away on Dec. 2 at the Woodhaven Manor Nursing Home in Demopolis. She was born Sept. 5, 1910, in Gallion.
She was a member of the Evening Star Baptist Church in Gallion.
She is survived by a sister, Daisy Rowser, four children: Minnie Scott and Rosevelt (Daisy) Zanders of Demopolis, Steve Zanders of Cleveland, Ohio, and Emanuel (Yvonne) Zanders of Baton Rouge, La; one very devoted nephew, Beverly Sams Jr. (Demopolis); nephews and nieces; more than 24 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren; and 20 great-great grandchildren; a very special friend and caregiver, Gina Y. Evans; and numerous cousins (the oldest-Josephine Daniels); other relatives; and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, five children, two sisters, and three grandchildren.
Family hour was held on Friday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. at Julia L. White Funeral Home in Uniontown.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 1 p.m. at the Evening Star Baptist Church in Gallion with the Rev. Floyd James officiating. Burial will be in the Evening Star Cemetery.
