After six months of having an interim superintendent, the Linden Board of Education has named a permanent superintendent.
George Baldwin, former director of the Marengo County Technology Center and the interim superintendent, was named to this position Monday night.
Baldwin has been in the Linden City Schools system for 29 years. He thanked the board and everyone who has supported him when he was named to the position.
“I want to thank you all for believing in me and allowing me to get this experience as interim before naming me to the position,” he said. “My door will always be open, and I am able and willing to be your superintendent.”
He also said that being the interim superintendent gave him the opportunity to “get my feet wet” in the position.
“This means a lot to me,” he said. “It’s a relief to know I was selected.”
In other business, the board approved the September and October financial reports.
