UWA to sponsor art classes in Demopolis

The University of West Alabama’s continuing education department will sponsor a few different classes in Demopolis in the new year.

The first class is an acrylic painting class. It will be taught by Kirk Brooker at the Demopolis Higher Education Center on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 p.m. for six weeks.

The class will begin on Jan. 22 and the final class will be on Feb. 26. Brooker will teach the class on an individual basis to accommodate for all skill levels. The cost is $80 for the six-week class.

The second class is a quilting class. It will be taught be Betty Kennedy of Camden at the Demopolis Higher Education Center. The classes will be held once a month on the fourth Monday.

The class will begin on Jan. 28 and will continue through May. The cost of this class is $50.

The final class that will be taught is a water color class. It will be taught by Lynda Ray on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and will last six weeks. The first class will be held on March 12 and the final class will be held on April 16. The cost of this class will be $80.
