Single-vehicle accident occurs in front of hospital

A Chevrolet Impala ran off the road in front of the hospital and collided with a power pole Thursday morning.

A single-vehicle accident involving a red Chevrolet Impala occurred Thursday morning in front of Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital on Highway 80.

A 38-year-old female from Uniontown was the driver of the vehicle.

Officers on the scene said the driver likely had a seizure. Police Chief Tommie Reese said the accident is still under investigation and he is still working on the report.

The car hit the curb and jumped onto the grass before colliding with a power pole. There was little damage done to the pole.

The driver was loaded into an ambulance and taken to the hospital.
