UWA’s Jordan earns conference Player of the Week honors

BIRMINGHAM – University of West Alabama guard Nikkia Jordan was named the Gulf South Conference Player of the Week on Tuesday.
In two games last week Jordan averaged 25.0 points and 8.5 rebounds and also recorded four steals and two blocks. She first posted a double-double in a win over West Florida in which she scored 13 points, pulled down 11 boards with two blocks and two steals. On Saturday, she dropped a new career-high 37 points against Valdosta State.
Jordan, last season’s GSC Tournament Most Outstanding Player, averaged a team-best 12.9 points-per-game while registering 19 games in double figures. She also led the team with 57 steals on the season.
Jordan and the Tigers look to extend a four-game winning streak when UWA travels to Delta State on Thursday. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
