A missing persons alert for a Linden 18-year-old has been cancelled.

The alert was issued Saturday and later canceled after Madeline Ward was located in Ohio. She was reportedly last seen in the Demopolis area on Friday.

Demopolis Police Department, the Alabama Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Marshals Service worked the case. They found Ward, and she has been interviewed and is unharmed.

Authorities believe the 18-year-old left the area on her own free will.

“She is OK,” said Demopolis Police Chief Tommie Reese.
