Trinity to host Lenten Lunches

Trinity Episcopal Church in Demopolis is set again to hold their popular Lenten Lunches this year.
The hour-long lunch will begin at noon on Tuesdays from Feb. 19 through March 19 in the church’s parish hall. The time will include food, fellow and speakers from a variety of churches. Lunch costs $5.
“The purpose of Trinity’s Lenten Lunches is to offer a convenient way to not only feed the hunger of their stomachs — with a nice lunch — but also to feed the hunger of their spiritual well-being via speakers coming to us from Tuscaloosa, Marion and Birmingham,” said John David Barnes, Trinity’s rector. “The church season of Lent is a time to prepare for the joy of Easter, the resurrection of Christ. Each speaker will focus on a theme which should assist us with this preparation.”
The Rev. Catherine Collier, associate rector at Christ Church in Tuscaloosa, will give the first talk on Feb. 19. She will be followed by the following speakers:
•Feb. 26, The Rev. Brandt Montgomery, associate chaplain at Canterbury Chapel in Tuscaloosa.
•March 5, The Rev. Tom Duley, pastor at Bluff Park United Methodist Church in Birmingham.
•March 12, The Rev. Marc Burnette, chaplain and rector at Canterbury Chapel in Tuscaloosa.
•March 19, The Rev. Dan Thornton, rector at St. Wilfrid’s in Marion.
Trinity is located at 401 North Main Avenue in Demopolis.
