UWA softball breaks into top 25

LIVINGSTON – On the strength of a 7-2 start, the University of West Alabama Softball team has broken into the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II Top 25 Poll at No. 25 this week.
The Tigers are one of two Gulf South Conference teams in the NFCA poll. Valdosta State (13-2) is the top ranked team in the country. One of the Tigers’ two losses came to North Georgia, who is ranked No. 4.
West Alabama opens the home portion of its schedule Saturday when Alabama-Huntsville (7-7) visits the UWA Softball Complex for a doubleheader that begins at 2 p.m. UWA continues the four-game homestand Sunday by hosting Tuskegee in a 3 p.m. doubleheader.
