Demopolis’ own Camilla Tutt is among five singers vying for the chance to sing with country music star Sara Evans during her 2013 Fan Club Party at CMA Music Fest in Nashville.
A recorded video of Tutt singing Sara Evans’ song, “Born to Fly” has secured her a space among the top five finalists. She just needs your votes to get her on stage.
Marni Tutt, mother of Camilla, said she entered the young singer last week in the contest and found out Wednesday morning she made the Top 5.
“Just being in Top 5 is huge,” Marni said as she expressed how proud she is of Camilla.
The entry with the most starred “likes” at the end of the voting period on Friday, May 31 will be the grand prize winner and receive a trip to Nashville to sing with Evans.
The lyrics of the song Tutt sang titled, “Born to Fly” by Sara Evans drive at a powerful question of “How do you keep your feet on the ground when you know you were born to fly?”
Fittingly enough, Tutt sang this inspiring song and secured a space as a finalist in this contest. Camilla and her mom, Marni, encourage everyone to vote before Friday’s deadline.
Tutt met Evans on her 11th birthday and at age 14 she now has the chance to sing with Evans.
“Sara was having a book signing in Birmingham. It was Camilla’s birthday and we went and took several friends to meet her also and get the book signed,” Marni Tutt said.
Camilla released her first album, “Big Time in a Little Town” recently and has seen much success recently. Tutt and Demopolis resident Amy Potter recently took home top awards at the Jimmy Rodgers Festival in Miss.
