Six arrested in counterfeit check ring

Six Greensboro individuals who were involved in a counterfeit check ring were arrested by the Demopolis Police Department on Wednesday, May 29.

According to officials, the Demopolis Wal-Mart filed a complaint of the checks being cashed and after some investigation, officers were lead to the check ring in Greensboro.

The individuals would present forged State of Alabama checks at Wal-Mart to be cashed. The checks were not real State of Alabama Checks, but were printed on a home printed.

Chasmine Tabb, 21, of Greensboro, arrested on two counts of possession of forged instrument in the first degree.

Latoya Hoskins, 22, of Greensboro, arrested on one count of possession of forged instrument in the first degree.

Katerriaeial Lewis, 30, of Greensboro, arrested on one count of possession of forged instrument in the first degree.

Kiara Paige, 24, of Greensboro, arrested on two counts of possession of forged instrument in the first degree.

Daryl Paige, 25, of Greensboro, arrested on one count of possession of forged instrument in the first degree.

Wendy Sanders, 24, of Greensboro, arrested on two counts of possession of forged instrument in the first degree.

DPD investigators traveled to Greensboro and picked up all of the arrested suspects and transported them to the Marengo County Detention Center in Linden to await a bond hearing.

Demopolis Police Chief Reese said that this investigation is still ongoing and expects to arrest additional suspects in this counterfeit check ring. Chief Reese praised his investigators for the work done in this investigation.
