The Demopolis Police Department is hosting National Night Out Tuesday, August 13, from 5-9 p.m. on the Demopolis Middle School Football Field and New Era Parking Lot.
National Night Out is an event dedicated to heightening drug and crime awareness across the nation. This year celebrates the 30th anniversary of the program.
Families are invited to enjoy carnival style food including hot dogs, hamburgers and cotton candy, and recreational activities such as a dunking booth, face painting and inflatables. A DJ will also be provided.
The Demopolis and Tuscaloosa Police Departments will complete demonstrations related to gun and drug safety as well as run a car simulator showing the affects of a crash. The Department of Human Resources will also have a booth set up to answer questions and provide health and safety information to families.
All are welcome, and the cost is free.
