Tuscaloosa businessman with Demopolis connections in coma after beating

A Tuscaloosa businessman with Demopolis connections is in a coma after he was attacked at a New York concert.
Jason McNeil has been hospitalized since July 5 in Buffalo after being attacked in what is being described as a random act of violence or a case of mistaken identity following a Kid Rock concert.
According to media reports, McNeil, 43, suffered from a serious head injury and is in a trauma intensive care unit in critical condition.
McNeil’s wife, Pam Courtney McNeil, is from Demopolis. The couple has two daughters.
A fundraising campaign to help the family has been started on the website Give Forward. There is a $25,000 goal to aid with McNeil’s recovery.

The Genesee (N.Y.) County Sheriff’s Department said that Craig M. Lawson, 34, of Ontario, Canada was arrested and charged with misdemeanor third-degree assault after allegedly punching McNeil in the face until he was unconscious. Lawson was released from jail after posting a $1,000 bond.
McNeil is a native of New York. He is co-owner and operations manager of Synchronous Industrial Services, an automotive supplier in Tuscaloosa.
