LIVINGSTON – Chase Bitowf has been named video coordinator for the University of West Alabama football program, Tiger head coach Will Hall announced Monday. Bitowf returns to his alma mater after working in the National Football League as a member of the Cincinnati Bengals video staff.
“Not many programs at our level have resources to have a true video coordinator,” UWA head coach Will Hall said. “For us to hire anyone in that position at this level, much less someone with Chase’s experience at the NFL level, is a testament to where we are as a program and our commitment to doing things the right way.”
Bitowf played football for the Tigers before a career-ending injury prior to his senior season. Hall awarded Bitowf with a graduate school scholarship to serve the program as video coordinator in 2010 prior to his stint with the Bengals.
With the Bengals, Bitowf worked with the special teams staff and was responsible for breaking down special teams video and filming the workouts. He also put together highlight videos and video for players and coaches to use in analysis.
Bitowf graduated from West Alabama in May 2011 with a degree in Sports Management and a 3.20 grade point average. While at UWA he also made the Gulf South Conference Academic Honor Roll.
