Shelton State offers free GED prep class

Adults in the Demopolis area can now take advantage of free classes that will prepare them to take the GED test.

Shelton State Community College in Tuscaloosa is offering classes in GED preparation as well as a basic education refresher course. You must be at least 18 years old to take the classes, which will offered for the entire year.

Anyone interested in enrolling in an adult education or GED class must attend a one-hour orientation and take a three-hour pretest. This will help in determining learning levels.

GED and basic education refresher classes are designed to fit around various schedules. Classes are offered Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the Demopolis Career Center at 1074 Bailey Drive in Demopolis.

In the evening, the classes are also offered on Monday and Wednesday from 5-8:30 p.m. at the Theo Ratliff Center at 306 First Ave. in Demopolis.
