Bryan Whitfield Compton III, age 55, of Virginia Beach, died unexpectedly Aug. 23 at his home from natural causes.

Born in Annapolis, Md., to retired Rear Adm. Bryan Whitfield Compton Jr. and the late Mary Taylor Compton.

He was a longtime resident of the beach and a passionate musician entertainer.

He loved piano, drums, singing and painting.

He is survived by his father of Demopolis; one brother, David, of Manassas, Va.; two sisters, Mary Catherine of Jacksonville, Fla., and Ann of Tuscaloosa; and four nephews and two nieces.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at the Riverside Cemetery in Demopolis.
