Auditions for the annual “Tombigbee Haints and Haunts” will be Sunday and Monday afternoon.
The October haunted tour is jointly sponsored by the Marengo County Historical Society, the Canebrake Players and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Half of the journey occurs on a boat along the Tombigbee, while the other half takes place on a hayride through historic Demopolis.
Actors and actresses selected during auditions will be at stops along the tour to tell mysterious stories of people from generations past.
There is always a new story each year, so people who have gone before will be sure to see something different.
This year’s tale is a progressive murder mystery with lots of characters.
Auditions will be Sunday, Sept. 15 at 2 p.m. and Monday, Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. at the Old School on Main.
Haints and Haunts tours will be Friday, Oct. 25 and Saturday, Oct. 26 at 7, 8 and 9 p.m. each night. Tickets cost $15 and are limited.
