Demopolis Mayor Mike Grayson signed a proclamation Tuesday making September Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in Demopolis.

Amy Dotson, Katelyn Beshears, Jennifer Thomason, Debbie Butler and Gary Butler were present for the signing of the proclamation.

Dotson is the mother and Beshears is the sister of Haley Dotson, who lost her life to Rhabdomyosarcoma three years ago. Thomason is the mother of Anna-Coleman Yelverton, who is two-and-a-half years in remission from Rhabdomyosarcoma. Debbie and Gary Butler are the parents of Bart Butler, who is nearly 12 years in remission from Leukemia.
