University of West Alabama sophomore midfielder Thibault Charmey was named the Gulf South Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Charmey accumulated two goals and three assists over three matches last week that included a conference and regional victory.

Against Montevallo on Tuesday, Charmey posted the game winning goal in the first two minutes of the second half to cement a 1-0 win. He assisted on a game-tying goal by Vitor Gazza in a 1-1 conference draw to Delta State on Friday.

The Paris, France native, tallied two more assists in a 3-0 routing of the defending GSC champions, Christian Brothers on Sunday. He wrapped up his phenomenal week with an unassisted goal against the Bucs in the 77′.

Charmey and the unbeaten Tigers return to home action on Friday as they host conference foe Alabama-Huntsville. The match is set for 7 p.m. in Tiger Stadium.
