Sophomore forward Clay Green posted his third goal of the season in the final five minutes of regulation to defeat Gulf South Conference foe Union. Green totaled two goals against the Bulldogs to extend the Tigers unbeaten streak to six matches.

“Today was a good performance of character for us,” said UWA head men’s soccer coach Matthew Thorne. “We showed great character after losing our lead twice in the game. Through it all we kept our belief that we could create chances to score and in the end we did exactly that.”

West Alabama (5-0-1; 3-0-1) took an early lead over Union (3-2-1; 1-2-1) with a goal by Green in the first five minutes of action. The Tigers then had to recapture its lead twice more.
